Loop Machine is fun, but it’s just the tip of the ice-berg. Ableton Live LE is $149 and the Ableton Live Suite is $499 from. OSCulator HARDWARE Same as previous SOFTWARE OSCulator 2.5.6 $19 minimum donation, Ableton Live or any other DAW or soft-synth. GarageBand is part of the iLife package, $79 from /ilife. The Wiinstrument HARDWARE Same as previous SOFTWARE The Wiinstrument free from GarageBand or any other digital audio workstation (DAW) or soft-synth. One caveat: if you follow Screen Fashion’s GarageBand tutorial, you may have to turn on the Compressor effect and raise its Threshold and Gain settings otherwise when using Drumstiicks mode, the volume can be very low. I paired The Wiinstrument with GarageBand, and it turned my Wiimote and Nunchuk into a nice drum controller. ![]() Essentially, I coded this so that playback begins when the accelerometer reaches equal to or great than 0.7. I have built a patch that receives the accelerometer information and forwards it to a subpatch. This means it can plug your Wiimote into any digital audio workstation (DAW) or MIDI soft-synth. Essentially, I am using OSCulator to send OSC messages from my Wii remote into PD. (Figure B) serves mainly as a Wii-MIDI port, although it also plays drum samples. I created a bass loop using 1 channel, then pitch-shifted and tweaked the sample in the other 2 to overlay it with weird, out-of-phase variations. For a track my band recently recorded, I loaded some of Michael Winslow’s vocal beatbox sounds from the Police Academy movies into all 3 sample channels. Moving the Wiimote around tweaks the effects settings to change the sound according to your movements. and let you trigger, loop, and apply effects to the audio for each. If I could just get the computer to recognize the bluetooth set, I would have no problem mapping everything. I know to hold down 1+2 on the controller to make it discoverable but I'm still have absolutely no luck.ĭoes anyone know what I am doing wrong? Do I need a wiimote, or maybe a bluetooth dongle? Worth asking, but both of those seem unnecessary since this thing has bluetooth built in. The OSX native bluetooth discovery program in system preferences also can't seem to find the controller. The set itself has bluetooth capabilities, no? I don't understand why Osculator can't discover the bluetooth drums. I've downloaded a trial of Osculator but I can't get it to recognize the drum set. I want to turn this drum set into a midi controller. I just put batteries in it and all seems to be well, the lights flash, etc etc. It's not white, but it is wireless, so I assume it was for Rockband 2 (2nd Gen Drums). The other day a crazy guy on the streets of NYC handed me a working Rockband drum set for Wii. I did some searching in the forums and found nothing so I decided to make my own post.
